Denmark

Gug skole is located 5-6 km south-east from the centre of Aalborg. The school is placed in a socially well-off environment with a relatively homegeneous group of pupils.
The parents cooperate actively with the school and are very interested in development and progress.
Gug skole serves around 800 pupils from the age of 6 to 16 years of age. There are 70 teachers at the school.

Teachers from gug skole has for many years worked on international projects. This is important for us because we do not have many foreigners at the school. So we do not reflect on normal society. It is important to teach our students about foreign cultures so that they understand and accept. We have a curriculum for the international work and an international committee.

We have 3 national parks in Denmark according to the new law from 2007. We would like to focus on Thy Nationalpark and on one of the old national parks Rebild Nationalpark and on the Nature Reserve Lille Vildmose. Lille Vildmose got an EU grant in 2011 and will be preserving more of this valuable nature. We are looking forward to teaching our students about these parks and about how we have to stand together to preserve all the natural wonders in Europe.
